Confronting the British and French residents of the province began in
the middle of the XVIII century, when after the Seven Years War, France
lost its colonies in Canada. After winning the British a large number
of Frenchmen were exterminated or expelled from the occupied
territories. In their place came the British. Some of the survivors of
French Canadians were herded into Lower Canada, which was renamed in
Quebec.
K won at the population invaders were treated as second-class citizens.

language, to respect the national customs. This happened before until
